THE 16TH INTERNATIONAL FAIR TRADE SUMMIT
The 16th International Fair Trade Summit will take place in Berlin, Germany from 23-26 August 2022. This will be the first and largest post-pandemic physical gathering for the Fair Trade movement, bringing together people and organisations representing the length of the Fair Trade supply chain. The Fair Trade Summit will gather an enthusiastic international audience of circa 300 CEOs and senior leaders from Fair Trade Enterprises and other organisations, including producer groups, academics, students, and other civil society representatives.
The World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) is the home of Fair Trade Enterprises. Spread across 84 countries, businesses are verified as social enterprises that fully practice Fair Trade. Collectively, we aim to improve the livelihoods of economically marginalised producers and workers, especially in the South. The history of Fair Trade is a history of thinking about solutions and making them work. It shows that trade based on fairness and cooperation that puts people and planet before profit is possible. Thus, the contribution of the Fair Trade movement towards a fair, just and sustainable economic transformation will be the focus of the WFTO summit in Berlin 2022.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE SPECIAL PASS
The Special Pass can be collected at the entrance of the event and grants access to curated exhibitions of Fair Trade products at no cost:

- Fashion Expo (23-24 August): Garments of +45 WFTO Members will be exhibited to present inspirational looks compiled from fair trade producers and brands. The WFTO Fashion Expo will kick off with a networking event (included in the Special Pass), opened by a fashion panel, on 23rd August at 7:30 pm.
- Fair Trade Fair (23-24 August): Designed as an evolution of our traditional Members’ market, this edition’s Fair Trade Fair is a tradeshow to smart target ethical suppliers. This is a unique sourcing opportunity for retailers and importers to personally meet the representatives from 33 Fair Trade Producer Organizations in one place, with a great range of products exhibited (from fashion, jewelry and home décor to food & drinks).
